A homeowner in East Wakefield, New Hampshire, was selling their home so they could move to a warm climate to avoid the harsh winters of the northeast. The homeowners had tested the radon levels with they purchased their home 22 years ago when they purchased the home and the levels were very low, but now the levels were higher than the recommended amount. The homeowner decided to contact EFS about installing a radon mitigation system in the home so it would be easier to sell. Our installation team installed a radon mitigation system into the home and reduced the radon levels to below 4.0 pCi/L.
A homeowner in Rye, New Hampshire, had purchased their home a few months ago. A homeowner in Rye, New Hampshire, recently had their home tested for radon gas, revealing a level of 7 pCi/L. Since levels above 4 pCi/L necessitate the installation of a radon mitigation system, this finding was particularly alarming, given that the homeowner's daughter's bedroom is in the finished basement. To address this urgent health concern, they reached out to Erickson Foundation Solutions for the prompt installation of a radon mitigation system to protect their residence.
Our System Design Specialist, Liam FitzPatrick, recommended installing our radon mitigation system, along with our Erickson Care Club service. The installation team began by creating an extraction point via a small circular cut in the basement's concrete floor for the radon mitigation system. They then attached a radon pipe to this point, extending it to the exterior of the home, where they mounted the radon fan on the side. They routed additional piping from the fan along the side of the house, extending it above the roof to avert radon re-entry. Following the operational integrity test of the fan, the homeowners were given a charcoal test kit to measure the radon levels after about one week.
The installation of the radon mitigation system has safeguarded this family from the hazardous gas.
