This homeowner in Auburndale, Massachusetts, has owned their home for the past 14 years. They had water entering their home periodically over the last decade. They called EFS for a free inspection of their basement and our Design Specialist recommended installing a perimeter drainage system into the basement to collect any water from the basement and pump it outside the home.
Our team installed 11' of WaterGuard, 12' of CleanSpace, a TripleSafe, and IceGuard with an Exterior Drainage Line to prevent water from collecting in the basement.
A homeowner in Manchester, New Hampshire, had recently purchased their home in the last year. When they moved into their home there was a large rainstorm that allowed water to leak into the basement. They wanted to use their basement for storage and didn't want to worry about water entering the basement and ruining their belongings. They decided to call EFS for a free inspection of their basement. Our Design Specialist met with the homeowners and took a detailed look at the basement to find where and why water was entering the basement. We found the water was seeping through the 60+-year-old foundation wall during heavy periods of rain. Our Installation Team installed WaterGuard, TripleSafe, CleanSpace, IceGuard, EDL, and SaniDry Sedona in the basement to prevent water from entering the basement and ruining their belongings.
A homeowner in Lowell, Massachusetts has lived in a home over 200 years old. For 10 years, he has experienced water seepage ruining his basement walls and floor. Concerned about the health of his foundation, he reached out to Erickson Foundation Solutions.
Design Specialist, Victor Tapia, visited the home to provide a free home inspection. Although many people consider a French Drain (an outside perimeter drainage system), Victor explained how trenching outside the exterior of the foundation wall can be harmful. With durable soil being removed from along the foundation walls, the structural integrity is at risk, especially an old cobblestone foundation. This could cause basement walls to bow, lean, and even collapse. Victor instead recommended an indoor perimeter waterproofing system. This system is composed of our WaterGuard perimeter drainage, UltraSump sump pump, and CleanSpace vapor barrier. The system collects water along the border of the foundation and distributes it to the sump pump basin. From there, the sump pump expels water safely out of the home through an exterior discharge line. The CleanSpace vapor barrier captures any additional water that seeps through the wall and filters it to the WaterGuard system. With the wall encapsulated, moisture in the basement is also alleviated.
With a little TLC, this 200-year-old chamber is turned into a beautiful dry basement!
Homeowners in Pelham, New Hampshire had recently experienced multiple basement floods once snow started melting. The previous sump pump that was installed in their home was unable to keep up with the high volume of water surrounding the foundation. With plans to finish the basement in the future, these homeowners know they had to waterproof the basement in order to protect their investment.
Design Specialist, Josh Bartholomew, recommended installing WaterGuard perimeter drainage and a TripleSafe sump pump system. The WaterGuard system is installed around the perimeter of the basement and collects water from the wet soil surrounding the basement before being exposed to the basement walls and floor. WaterGuard then distributes that water to the TripleSafe sump pump system. The TripleSafe guarantees that unwanted water will always get pumped out of the home. The three-pump system has a pump for standard water levels, high water levels, and an emergency battery-powered backup pump.
After installing these systems, our installation crew performed a final walkthrough with the homeowners. They were extremely happy with the final result!
A homeowner from Belmont, Massachusetts has a finished basement that kept leaking. This has caused mold and other undesirable affects. The homeowner wants to create a livable space for family members to use. In order to achieve this, she reached out to Erickson Foundation Solutions.
One of our Design Specialists, Scott Ruisi, came out to the home to complete a free home inspection. Within 90 minutes, Scott diagnosed the issues with the basement and proposed solutions that met the homeowner's expectations. He ultimately recommended installing WaterGuard perimeter drainage, TrenchDrain surface drainage, a TripleSafe sump pump, and a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. This waterproofing system collects water at the perimeter of the foundation before entering the basement, filtering it to the sump pump, and then expelling it from the home through a drainage line. The dehumidifier removes moisture from the air, thus eliminating mold spores and other toxins, which creates better air quality. Our installation crew chipped out the perimeter of the basement floor and wall to make space for the WaterGuard system. Once space was made, WaterGuard was laid in place on top of crushed stone. TrenchDrain is used in areas where WaterGuard in inaccessible. These two systems connect to each other, forming a path that allows water to flow to the sump pump. A basin was created for the sump pump to sit in and collect the water. Once the drainage system was connected to the sump pump, everything was cemented in place. The exterior drainage line was then added to the sump pump.
Our installation crew made sure to keep the space neat and tidy. Once the job was complete, they gave the homeowner a walkthrough of their new waterproofing system. They were thrilled with the result.
