John and Andrew were able to help another concerned customer get their radon levels down with this completed install
When testing revealed radon levels of 31 pCi/L in this home, the risk wasn’t something to ignore. At more than seven times the EPA action level, the homeowners knew they needed a radon mitigation contractor who could act fast and get it right the first time. Our team designed a direct extraction system, placing the extraction point near the drain and routing it straight out the back of the home. This clean, efficient setup supports strong airflow and long-term radon reduction while minimizing visual impact. By using proven sub-slab depressurization methods and professional-grade equipment, we’re helping this family reduce their radon exposure symptoms risk and protect their home’s indoor air quality.
When detector readings came back around 5 pCi/L, homeowner Keith who recently underwent surgery for lung cancer knew it was time to take action. Radon exposure symptoms can be especially dangerous for those with a health history, and he wanted peace of mind for his family. Our crew installed a custom radon mitigation system, replacing the sump lid but placing the suction point along the wall instead of the sump, since it discharges into septic. The radon fan was strategically routed near the dryer vent, away from the deck and kitchen window, ensuring safe airflow and compliance. We also installed a Breathe EZ air cleaner and ERV system, showing the family how to replace filters to maintain clean, healthy air. With careful planning around the home’s AC, exhausts, and deck, this radon abatement project provided both protection and comfort.
A radon mitigation system's extraction point typically goes through the concrete floor and beneath the property, but that wasn't an option for radon removal this time. Chuck's floors were poured with radiant heating elements so we couldn't drill through them. While there are a few options for an extraction point without drilling, we opted for a sump pit extraction point as a solution.
This client is a mom of a 3 kids with her husband who loves hunting. At first, they were having second thoughts to pursue this remediation system but most his neighbors have one and it was for the protection of the kids so he made the decision. He had a radon test which returned to 18.5, not good. Thrasher installed a partial system years ago with Waterguard, Triple Safe sump pump, and 32" Cleanspace on walls. There's a sub slab extraction point near sump pit and tap into Waterguard, then second extraction point near door in storage room. The team made a core through block wall to exit on side corner of house and installed a Breathe EZ filter.
