This customer called Olympic Restoration Systems after they had a Mold Inspector provide them with a mold protocol for their home. The Mold Inspector detected mold and the customer did not want to wait to have the mold remediation that was needed. They already had another Restoration company come out for an assessment and quote. They were not happy with the customer service that was provided to them from that company. They then called Olympic Restoration Systems for a second assessment and quote.
We scheduled an appointment with them and an Olympic Restoration Systems Specialist visited the property and proposed a quote to the customer. They proceeded with the mold remediation with Olympic Restoration Systems for their home.
This customer lives in the historical district of McKinney and in order to keep the home is pristine condition, they needed to get a moisture barrier in their crawl space.
Olympic Restoration Systems was contacted for an assessment of their crawl space. We had a Specialist visit the property and they proposed a quote to the customer. They proceeded with a crawl space encapsulation for their home from Olympic Restoration Systems.
We applied Mold-X2 Cleaner and a Botanical disinfectant to all exposed wood within the crawl space. We regraded the soil to direct the water seepage to the newly installed sump system. We removed all debris from the crawl space. We installed two SmartSump pump systems with two liners, two cast iron pumps, two CleanPump stands, with two airtight lids, two airtight floor drains and a WaterWatch alarm system. We installed two UltraSump battery back-up pumping systems with a charging/control box that had an alarm and a 120-amp sealed maintenance-free battery. We installed an EZ Flow Pipe to capture the incoming water and direct it to the sump pump. We installed a CleanSpace crawl space encapsulation system. We installed a CleanSpace Drainage Matting under the CleanSpace liner. We installed two SaniDry Sedona dehumidifiers to keep the humidity low. We installed two small pumps to move the water from the dehumidifiers to the sump pumps or out of the crawl space. We installed two wireless sensors in the crawl space, which will send the temperature and the humidity readings to a small panel inside the house. A separate dedicated circuit/outlet for the sump pump and for the dehumidifier were installed. We installed an EverLast Door.
This customer called after receiving a mold protocol from Indoor Environmental. A mold protocol comes from a licensed mold inspector, which is separate from a licensed mold remediator, per state laws. Olympic Restoration Systems has employees who are licensed to remediate mold. We sent one of our licensed mold remediators, Darrin, to the property for a free mold remediation estimate. The homeowner accepted the mold remediation proposal, and we sent our Production Team to begin the work.
The mold remediation included setting up containment to keep mold from circulating in the air during remediation, placing HEPA vacuums to scrub the air, removing damaged drywall and flooring, and wiping down surfaces with an EPA-registered antimicrobial solution.
This customer was having issues with bugs coming into their house that seemed to be coming up from the crawl space through cracks in the floors. He said that they had recently moved to this area and had only been in this home for about 1 year. The customer said that it looks like there was an encapsulation installation attempt years ago, but they only got about ½ way done. It is not quite what it should be to be effective. Their crawl space needed to have some attention, or an upgrade to get them the protection that they were looking for, for their home. The customer said that they have ants coming in every nook and cranny from the floors. Part of their home is on a slab, part of it is a split level, and part of it is on a pier and beam. They were using a dehumidifier inside the home, in the area that the split level was located. In their previous home back east, they had an encapsulation in their crawl space. They knew and understood the benefits that it provided for their home and was interested in getting a quote for an encapsulation for this new home.
Olympic Restoration Systems was contacted for an assessment of their home. We had a Specialist visit the property and they proposed a quote to the customer. They proceeded with a crawl space encapsulation for their home from Olympic Restoration Systems.
This customer called after a pipe burst in the wall between the master bedroom and laundry room, causing water to flood into her laundry room. She was concerned that there was mold growth behind her washer and dryer. After she had a mold inspector come to her home, confirm mold growth, and give her a mold protocol, she scheduled a free mold removal estimate with Olympic Restoration Systems. We sent our first available System Designs Specialist, Ross, to complete the free mold remediation quote. Ross presented a proposal to the homeowner, using the mold protocol from the mold inspector, and the homeowner accepted.
The production team started by setting up containment and HEPA vacuums around the molded area to keep the mold from spreading during removal. Then, the team carefully removed the molded drywall and carpet, working around the pipes that lead to the washer and dryer. The finished by wiping down the entire area with an EPA registered antimicrobial solution.
