This homeowners basement was used as a utility space and general storage. The walls had cracked old waterproof paint, and water seeped in along the floor, leading to musty and damp odors throughout. To get the space to be usable and enjoy a semi-finished look, the homeowners called up John's Waterproofing. We installed a full interior drainage system using our WaterGuard, which will collect and channel the water to the newly installed TripleSafe sump pump. Along the walls we then installed our BrightWall paneling which is shingled into the new drain system so any moisture or water is safely collected. BrightWall is a waterproof material which will not mold or mildew, and brightens the space, giving it a semi-finished look once fully installed. To finish the project we installed a SaniDry dehumidifier.
This customer called with water leaking into their basement causing issues. We had to install a custom fit sump liner due to the elevation of the house.
No homeowner wants to experience water intrusion. It can cause all kinds of issues to the home like mold growth, wood rot, and even impact the structural integrity of the home. At John's Waterproofing, we take pride in ensuring water can't get into basements by installing a proper drainage system that keeps water out. This involves installing a SuperSump Plus sump pump and WaterGuard drainage pipe. The WaterGuard system gets installed first by jackhammering a trench along the interior perimeter of the basement. It is lined with gravel so that water can easily filter through and help to prevent clogging. The purpose of this system is so it can collect water that tries to enter and act as a safe passageway to the SuperSump Plus sump pump. This sump pump is what takes all that collected water and can securely push it out and away from the homes foundation. It is designed with a heavy duty Zoeller pump so that it is capable of controlling mass amounts of water at a time. With these two systems installed, we can ensure that the basement will stay dry and healthy all year round.
Woody had sealed off this small area of his house and enclosed it to cover a wet and unsightly basement wall. After enough cracking and mold, he decided it needed to be handled. Having already used us to encapsulate his crawlspace, we were the first and only call this homeowner made. We repaired the crack and installed our lovely Bright Wall panels to finish the space and make it functional for the home owner.
This wonderfully finished basement had been a cozy lived-in area of the home until just last year. After a heavy rain, they noticed wet spots on their finished wall and coming in where the wall and the floor meet. A few more regular rain showers and this family was left with standing water and multiple leaks in their basement. This required them to tear apart their whole space due to water damage. Our team came in and installed a drainage system, completed the crack repairs, and installed our patented ThermalDry Wall system. This system ensures that no water or moisture will come in contact with the living space or building materials used to finish the basement walls. Now that the space is free from water intrusion issues they can refinish the wall and never have to worry again.
