A homeowner in Cranston, Rhode Island was concerned with their concrete patio cracking and settling, creating tripping hazards. Noticing that the problem was getting worse, they wanted to lift and stabilize the concrete before further damage occurred.
Our Design Specialist, Jim Meglio, went to the home to conduct a free home inspection. After completing the inspection, he recommended installing PolyLevel to lift and level the sunken concrete. PolyLevel is a polyurethane foam used to fill voids between the soil and concrete. Our installation crew drilled tiny holes in the concrete in order to inject the foam. After lifting the concrete back to its original spot, NexusPro joint repair was used to seal the cracks. NexusPro stops water from making its way underneath the concrete, preventing shifting and cracking.
With the application of these products, the patio has become a safe and more visually appealing space.
A homeowner in New London, New Hampshire had concerns with his damp and musty bedroom. He noticed this issue ever since he moved into the home three years ago. Unable to continue living in these circumstances, he reached out to Erickson Foundation Solutions for a permanent fix.
One of our Design Specialists, Josh Phillips, went to the house to conduct a free home inspection. While completing the inspection, Josh noticed that the existing encapsulation system in the crawl space was not keeping moisture out as it was intended. This was the source of why the homeowner's bedroom was damp and musty. Mold, wood rot, and other negative effects also resulted because of it. The wood rot has caused cracks in the wall and doors to not shut properly. Josh recommended installing our SuperSump sump pump, CleanSpace vapor barrier, and SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. The SuperSump sits in a basin in the crawl space and pumps out water that is surrounding the outside of the foundation. The CleanSpace vapor barrier properly encapsulates the crawl space to keep out moisture, which protects against mold, wood rot, and pests. The SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier further helps prevent against moisture, creating a dry space and delivering better air quality to the entire home.
The homeowner loved the final result. He will look to us when completing future home projects.
A homeowner in Nashua, New Hampshire had a crack running along their foundation wall. Typically, a crack like this can worsen over time if left untreated. Eventually, this could cause the basement wall to lean and bow, and even potentially collapse. Concerned about the safety of her home, this homeowner reached out to us for a permanent solution.
Our Design Specialist recommended installing PowerBrace, a foundation wall repair system. This system supports and stabilizes bowing and leaning walls, and can even straighten them. Additionally, FlexiSpan, a polyurethane sealant, was installed to seal the crack. This material adjusts to movements in the basement wall and prevents water from making its way through the crack.
With this system in place, the home is now properly supported, and the wall has been stabilized. This homeowner now has peace of mind that her forever home is safe.
A homeowner in Hudson, New Hampshire experienced their fieldstone foundation walls deteriorating. With the wall bowing inwards, concerns arose regarding basement wall support. They reached out to Erickson Foundation Solutions in order to stabilize their foundation wall.
Our Design Specialist, Debra Rayborn, recommended installing an auxiliary wall to stabilize the fieldstone foundation. Our installation crew installed SmartJacks around the failing wall to ensure that the floor above was receiving the proper support. With the SmartJacks in place, the mold for the concrete auxiliary wall was set up. The SmartJacks were cemented into the auxiliary wall for maximum support.
With the SmartJacks and auxiliary wall installed, the basement walls are stabilized, and the rest of the home is supported.
