A homeowner in Methuen, Massachusetts had removed the drywall in their basement due to water seepage, only to discover that there were massive cracks in their foundation wall. They reached out to Erickson Foundation Solutions to stabilize the wall and protect the property value.
Our Design Specialist, Tom Armano, recommended installing GeoLocks to prevent the foundation wall from further bowing inward. The GeoLocks are put in place by installing steel plates to the wall, and anchoring them in to strong, durable soil outside of the home. This prevents the wall from leaning and can even straighten it.
With the GeoLocks installed, the wall is stabilized, and the home is properly supported. The homeowner now has peace of mind in having a safe basement.
A homeowner in Wakefield, Massachusetts had been experiencing sagging floors. Although this was very annoying, it caused a greater concern for the long-term health of the structure. This led to the homeowner reaching out to our Erickson Foundation Solutions team in search of a way to stabilize her home.
Our Design Specialist, Nikki Burke, recommended installing SmartJacks to support the home and stabilize the floors. This homeowner already had Lally columns all throughout her basement, but they could not provide the proper support that was needed. SmartJacks offer more support by inserting a galvanized steel plate into the foundation. This steel plate sits on a sturdy base of crushed stone. The galvanized steel post is then attached to the plate, and also connects to a supplemental beam. Once installed, they are cemented in place.
The SmartJacks not only prevented the floor from sinking further, but they also raised and leveled the floor as well. This homeowner was thrilled that the sagging and uneven floors had been fixed, and that the structure of her home is now properly supported!
A homeowner in Center Barnstead, New Hampshire, had seen a crack start to form in their garage around 5 years ago. They have seen the crack get larger and decided they wanted to have it sealed. They called EFS and we found that the crack was caused by the concrete slab settling. We then recommended installing 3 Helical Piers under the right side of the garage, then using PolyLevel to lift and level the slab, and finally sealing the crack using NexusPro.
These homeowners in Mirror Lake, New Hampshire recently purchased their forever home. Before further investing in other home projects, they wanted to make sure the foundation was secure and safe. This led them to reach out to our Erickson Foundations Team to schedule a free inspection.
Justin Broussard carefully inspected the basement and then consulted with the homeowners. He noticed that one of their foundation walls was bowing extremely inward and was at risk of even potentially collapsing in. For a home that was built in the 1700's, it was crucial that this home got the support it needed. Justin recommended installing our PowerBrace auxiliary foundation wall. This wall stabilizes the fieldstone foundation. The homeowners recognized the importance of the situation and scheduled an installation date.
Once our installation crew had the auxiliary wall in place and completed the job, they had a walkthrough with the homeowners to go over the work that was done. The homeowners were very happy with the job knowing that their forever home is now supported by a strong foundation.
