The client is a real estate agent and is selling her own house. She is aiming to close the home as a sale that is contingent upon getting levels below 4 and she already has a potential buyer. Levels are 19 with this 3-chambered home. It has two large rooms that are slab on grade, then basement. It has no sump pit. The installation will start from the HVAC room as the sub slab extraction point is found there. She will talk to another agent but was wanting this done much sooner and said the buyers are moving from out of state and demanded a post test below 4 prior to moving in. We made it work! She was really happy!
Brooke works from a home office in basement and kids live down there. She tested and returned with levels of 9 and have been putting off. Her basement is nearly all finished. She also has an unfinished storage room that is on front of house. No sump pit. Sub slab extraction point in HVAC room, go through drywall and core to enter garage, will need to go across stairs to reach garage, then up into attic for fan and muffler placement. The Team Lead, Andrew talked about plans possibly changing due to limitations with virtual inspection initially. Client and tech ended up with a hanged location of fan from attic to exterior. Brooke was very nice and understanding all through out.
This client of ours was planning to sell their home recognized that radon mitigation would improve its marketability and ensure a successful sale. They do believe in due time all homes in the United States will require a radon mitigation system as part of a safety measure in home inspections. The installation went well and they were really happy on the team cleaned up afterwards.
