This was a big old farm house and when the team saw the home's structure, it was indeed a challenge installation a radon mitigation system or ERV. As they will need to core through the brick exterior, they will have also need to cut some ceiling out in various locations to run ERV ducts over the HVAC and interior walls. This was fully explained to the customer and they definitely agreed. The team made sure no further breaking will be needed and it will not be damaging the home's aesthetic. We have done proper crawlspace encapsulation and ERV installation for his basement. The basement wasn't really livable but since his dogs mostly stay there, he wants to get them protected from any radon exposure. Everything went well!
It was fun talking to this homeowner, he was very accommodating the moment we spoke to him on the phone. Not only that, he even upfront paid for the whole radon mitigation system. He mentioned he wanted to get it on the 'right time' before inflation would start on them. The design was a dual system with 7 extraction points. It was a straightforward install with both fans on the north side of the home. Everything went well!
In David City, Nebraska, word spread about Radon Defense Midwest's exemplary service. It had a lot of Google Reviews, Feedback, and amazing gallery of work. The team had several calls with the same story until they got to this booking. The client was really in a good mood, she constantly helped and laughed at her own stories. The home had 3 chambers and she already had an old system and needed one more to make sure her whole house if protected in and out. A draft was designed for the client along with the discussions on what to expect alongside the installation. She agreed and on the same day, she booked an additional encapsulation service since she was happy with Radon Defense Midwest's service.
15 years ago the homeowners used plastic to line the crawl space to prevent soil gas intrusion. Found out that the covering is in major disrepair and will need to be removed. Educated homeowners about this and they agreed. The team will encapsulate the 2 areas on the east side of the home along with the crawlspace. It will be a 4-point system as the home is quite large. Three points in the crawl spaces where existing system is run. Plus one point under or next to the stairs. The area under the stairs is tight and will need to be encapsulated. The radon fan was replaced with a better one and the clients requested to keep the old. Everything went well and homeowners are happy!
The reason behind this installation was comforting since the homeowners were just really worried on how radon can go through their kids' health. It was a battle between their savings and a decision to make but Radon Defense Midwest made it work! The option for financing might not applicable to others but somehow a savior to some! Great installation done achieved!
