ALS Property Associates installed a radon mitigation system at a residential property in Kalamazoo, MI. A sub-slab depressurization radon system was used and schedule 40 piping was run to the garage attic. The radon fan was installed in the attic and vented through the roof.
This is an example of a dirt floor crawlspace. The before photo shows the dirt floor which is a main entry point for the radon gas. The second is the after photo after we installed drainage matting and 20 MIL Clean Space vapor barrier. This is sealed and connected to the radon system to create negative pressure under the barrier safely venting the radon gas outside of the home.
Sometimes when an exterior fan is needed our clients would like a better clean-cut look. In these circumstances our exterior aesthetic package comes into play. Our team installs a cover over the fan and runs the pipe through the soffit and vented through the roof. This helps blend the system with the house and gives it a better look than just a fan and wrapped around the gutter.
Before and after photos detailing a radon reduction system recently installed in Richland, MI.
Here is a before after of a radon fan installed in Richland, MI. This home had a pass through radon system and the radon levels were over 10 pCi/L. We installed a radon fan to the existing piping which now creates negative pressure under the concrete slab effectively lowering the radon to much safer levels.
