Jim's basement workshop felt like a man cave – except for the worry about radon. A recent radon test confirmed his fears: dangerous levels of 25 were seeping in. He envisioned his grandkids playing down there one day, and the thought chilled him more than the radon itself. The technician explained how a system installed in the utility room would trap radon at its source and vent it safely outside. He pictured this space as a safe, healthy space, the worry replaced by the comforting hum of the new system – a quiet protection against a silent threat.
The client is the daughter of the homeowners we serviced across the street, they recommended us to her and she really liked how the radon mitigation system was installed in her parents place. They were nice and very flexible about everything -- as long as the system does the job right and no future issues. The team checked the home and saw that the sump is not perforated. Did a radon test and returned with levels 14-15, so a second point is needed either under the stairs but they preferred to have it at the right of the door leading into the additional room. The client's father was diagnosed with progressive cancer so she takes very seriously to full detail. They also added in an ERV installation to circulate healthier airflow within the other center room. All services were done neatly and met expectations of client. They did mention they will recommend us to all their friends.
Radon is actually a radioactive gas and in lengths of time could cause lung cancer if not mitigated. This was the client's first question when we met her online, she had her research but she believes to always leave it the experts. She had her home for a radon test and found out they had levels of 22! That's a big discovery for them as a family. Now, they decided to have it mitigated as soon as possible. It was a simple install where the system would run along in the garage and would exit at the back of the home. Everything went perfect!
Regardless of this client being in a nursing home, she still wanted her home protected from the harmful effects of radon. She had her home tested and returned with high levels so for their to protect her health and the future relatives who will stay in her home, she called Iowa Radon Defense and booked a radon mitigation install. She was happy with her move as despite being elderly, she didn't show any limitation in decision making regardless of age.
After the clients purchased their dream home, as new homeowners they were eager to move in. As part of their pre-move-in checklist, they decided to test for radon. The results showed high levels that came up to 10 pCi/L, this really caused significant concern. To protect their family's health, they quickly arranged for a radon mitigation system with Radon Defense Midwest. The clients are now enjoying their new home without worry, thanks to the effective radon mitigation installed.
