This project will be a challenging one as a set of expectation. There is a super small portion of the basement that will need an extraction point and small slab that will need a horizontal extraction point that is towards under the stairs. The homeowner will start working from home so she needs all the protection she should get. The challenge was going to be the extraction point from outside the house. The technician will most likely be going to need to run a line through the crawl space hole and out through the far side of that. The good thing is that it is currently covered with clean space but is a tighter fit and uncomfortable. The homeowner didn't want much damage as it would cost her extra to repair and it no longer fits her budget. She was looking to see what the radon system could do before going down and encapsulation avenue.
This is a single 1 point system that will be run on the outside of the corner of the house. The only difference here is that we will need to tie into the existing waterproofing system that was in the home. That being said, she had received multiple quotes from competitors and thought about it a little, she did like what we could offer best. Carey, the tech, did have to battle this scenario a little bit but ultimately the client agreed and move forward. The client helped moving some things along the way and we discussed the ideal position of the system. The installation went smooth!
This was a challenging project as the homeowner was very concerned about the placement of piping and trapping in current electrical and plumbing. For the sounds of things, he wanted to be hands-on during the installation process. We made sure it will be done to his satisfaction. Homeowner was supposed to pull some of the shelving away from the wall in order to allow us to run pipe and work in the area. We drafted and explained everything to him firsthand before starting - he agreed, and everything worked out fine. He really took the day off to give time for this!
Iowa Radon Defense was a savior for this busy professional who had recently moved to Garner, Iowa. The client really liked the rapid response and efficient mitigation results the company promises which allowed them to focus on their career with one less worry in their life – high radon levels in their home. It was not a complicated installation as the system was meant to be placed in the utility room and connected with an exit point in the corner. The crawlspace was a decent size, so everything went well.
The home was recently built in 2020 and homeowner is very concerned about air quality in the house has he believes that quote "it will add multiple years onto my life". I ran through essentially everything other than an ERV and the homeowner was on board. He said now that he has a couple kids he doesn't really care what happened to him but wants to make sure his kids are taken care of for the future. He elected for an aspen EVC light and breathe easy. We love the fact he is worrying about the safety for his whole family regardless if they don't have high radon levels. Homeowner is very flexible, the installation was agreed to be around the garage way out.
