This client is preparing to sell their home, knew that high radon levels could attract potential buyers as per recent real estate articles. He knew he had radon but only made the decision today as it helps a property's image to be sold. He also had a home inspection, which advised the same thing. He requested a simple system since his home had an inaccessible crawlspace to begin with. The team installed the system on each side of the block wall in the basement, connected together to go out the patio. It has been proven that a radon mitigation system increases the home's value and attracting more offers.
This concerned homeowner's knowledge about radon inspires his entire neighborhood. As she claims to be a pioneer in researching about radon exposure and radon mitigation system, she becomes the neighborhood advocate for indoor air quality. We installed a system for her 2nd home and paid it in full.
This accommodating homeowner shared their positive experience with Iowa Radon Defense on Google and social media. They praised the company for their prompt service and courteous technicians who ensured their home's radon levels were reduced to safe levels.
The client initially told us after she got her free estimate that she was terribly busy and didn't have time for a long sales pitch before the appointment. The team spent a couple hours with her, and she was very deep down. There are now people living in the basement and she was concerned with air quality and radon. She teaches college science and works in water treatment. She also cares for two large huskies. She had a crowded basement with an unfinished storage room. There are storage shelves next to sump pit with exterior drain tiles. As per the plan, one will be moved, the other has been built in but they will remove items from the shelf. The team also moved the big shed from her yard, and everything fell into place.
This was an interesting layout on the home and ultimately came to a conclusion with the homeowner based on layout of the home that the guest bedroom would be the best extraction point. It would be in the far corner of the room downstairs and come out on the back side of the house. This was a starter home for both Joe and his wife so they weren't all that concerned about aesthetics as they were thinking about selling their home within the year because there was a job opportunity for the wife in Texas. Needless to say, they also wanted their home appraised if that time comes.
