A homeowner in Salem, New Hampshire, had lived in their home for the past 30 years. Over the years the homeowner had noticed the block foundation wall start to bow and deteriorate. Our design specialist recommended installing a new masonry wall to the front of the home in place of the bowed one.
In Salem, NH, this homeowner was concerned as they started noticing unsettling cracks along the exterior of their foundation, a clear sign of ground settlement impacting their home’s stability. As showcased, our Erickson Foundation Solutions team swung into action, utilizing Push Piers designed to halt and correct settlement. Marshall W. of Somerville, Massachusetts, was experiencing crumbling of his brick foundation. Marshall had been getting more and more worried about the home's structural integrity. He called Erickson Foundation Solution to see if someone could come out and inspect his home. EFS sent Design Specialist John Prince came out to the home and inspected the foundation to see what EFS could do to strengthen it. John proposed that we will replace the crumbling brick with cinder blocks.
Crew Lead and head Mason Nick Carelli and his team came to the home and rebuilt the brick portion of the foundation to strengthen the foundation. Marshall was relieved that they were able to add stability to the foundation that wasn't in the best shape.
John H. of Somerville, Massachusetts was experiencing foundation wall damage in his basement from what he believes is a tree in his yard. He thinks that a tree in his yard has roots that are pushing against his foundation which is causing this crack in the wall. John called Erickson Foundation Solutions to see about them coming out for a free inspection.
Design Specialist Kyle Jamerson came to the home and inspected the inside and outside of the basement. After the inspection, Kyle proposed that John have Power Braces installed in his basement to strengthen up his foundation walls.
Crew Lead Scott Crandall and his team came to the home and installed Power Braces on the cracked wall. The team recommended that in the future, so the problem doesn't happen again, John should think about removing the tree so it can alleviate some pressure on the wall.
The owner of a condo in Somerville, Massachusetts, had wooden supports in their basement that weren't up to code. The owner reached out to EFS and our design specialist recommended replacing the wooden supports with SmartJacks.
