A homeowner had recently experienced a flood in their finished basement. There was an inch of water on the basement floor, damaging belongings that were being stored and ruining furniture. In order to protect their investment and prevent this from happening again, they reached out to Erickson Foundation Solutions for a permanent solution.
A Design Specialist came to the home to inspect the basement. To create a waterproofing system, our specialist recommended installing WaterGuard perimeter drainage, TrenchDrain surface drainage, and our TripleSafe sump pump. This system works by capturing water at the perimeter of the basement and redirecting it to the sump pump. The sump pump then safely removes the water away from the home. This homeowner already had a sump pump, but the basement still flooded. Our TripleSafe sump pump will prevent flooding with our three-pump system. One main pump expels normal amounts of water. A second pump is activated for heavy amounts of water. Finally, our battery backup pump operates when there is a power outage. Our IceGuard system was also installed to the exterior drainage line to eliminate the possibility of pipes freezing, which would prevent water from being able to be pumped out of the home.
This waterproofing system guarantees that the finished basement will be a dry and comfortable living space.
