Crawlspace Encapsulation - Council Bluffs, IA

This homeowner had a rodent problem for 30 years. His home was infested with mice, and he thinks they live in his crawlspace. Upon checking the crawlspace, it was indeed full of rat poop and poison. It was not a pretty sight. We did what we had to do and cleaned for the encapsulation to begin. This will definitely help but we also suggested to have them contact a pest control company. He was happy how his crawlspace looks now.

Radon Mitigation - Council Bluffs, IA

A health scare prompted this family to test their home for radon. They decided on a mitigation system with Radon Defense Midwest, and now, they breathe easier, knowing they've protected their loved ones.

The installation of this was drafted between the furnace and crawlspace opening. The client was pretty worried how the damage would end up through his roofing but we guaranteed that the system is going to be tailor fitting his home structure. It was a straightforward installation.

Met with Scott, a retired UP executive, and his wife, a retired nurse, at their large ranch-style home. The house boasts geothermal heating, ICF construction, and spray foam insulation inside the attic roof for energy efficiency. They already have an ERV connected to their HVAC system but need a custom Breathe EZ and L brackets for a larger filter. With no sump pump, they have a passive system with a capped pipe near the sump pit. They also require crack sealing, a UVC light installation, duct cleaning with deluxe fogging, and dryer vent cleaning. Radon levels were 5.5 short term and 2.7 long term, seeking peace of mind with a system while enjoying retirement.

The team met with April and her husband Jon. They bought this acreage 2 years ago and didn't test till recently and levels are 7. She was a nurse and freaked out by radon. They're both self employed and have a bunch of kids that were not present. Chiefs fans and went to game this past weekend. Both were nice and friendly. Jon is more no nonsense and was just interested in the depressurization system and said he was familiar with it already. After installation, you can see the relief from April's face.
