Having an untreated crawlspace can lead to a damp home, not to mention a mold problem if not treated properly. For Bill, he was having an issue with both. He reached out to MidAmerica Basement Systems for help, and he was offered a total crawlspace encapsulation with CleanSpace. CleanSpace is a thick, pool-like liner that completely and permanently seals off the exposed ground from the rest of the crawlspace. The liner also has an antimicrobial additive manufactured in it to prevent future mold growth, making it ideal in a damp, moist situation. CleanSpace liner not only provides a permanent seal against moisture, but also provides the crawlspace with a bright and clean finish. Bill no longer worries of high moisture levels in his home.
Ray and Lynn were noticing excessive amounts of moisture in their basement, but couldn’t figure out where the issue was coming from. They reached out to the experts at MidAmerica Basement Systems to have their mysterious issue resolved. During inspection, Chris addressed the source of the issue from the untreated crawlspace. Completely sealing off the exposed ground from the crawlspace will prevent moisture from entering the area and the basement. Using CleanSpace to encapsulate the area provides the proper seal necessary for the job. SilverGlo insulation was also installed to help keep the area insulated, and vent covers were placed along the vent openings to the outside. Moisture levels are back in control at Ray and Lynn’s home.

Before: A Compromised Foundation In Stockton, Illinois, a homeowner was struggling with a damp and musty crawl space that had become a source of unhealthy air for the entire house. The excessive moisture was creating a risk of structural rot, inviting unpleasant odors into the living areas and causing energy bills to rise. System Design Specialist Jason Feldmann conducted a thorough inspection and identified that the lack of a proper vapor barrier was allowing moisture from the earth to compromise the home's integrity.
After: A Clean and Engineered Solution To address these issues, our production team, led by Jacob Schultz, transformed the space into a dry and controlled environment. The installation included our CleanSpace encapsulation system, Drainage Matting and the high-efficiency SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. Our team tightly sealed the crawl space against the earth to block moisture vapor and permanently banish musty odors. As shown in the "after" photo, the result is a clean and healthy foundation that protects the structural integrity of the home while significantly improving indoor air quality.
