In Bristow, Indiana, a family was in desperate need of repairing the foundation of their home. One of the family members reached out to Healthy Spaces informing us that the was sinking and the floors were unlevel. For the foundation to be restored to its natural position, it needed a permanent solution.
The push pier system is a great system when lifting the home back up to its original position. To install the system, the soil needs to be removed from around the foundation's footing, where the pier will be installed. Next, a specially engineered steel bracket is placed under the footing for the steel pier sections to be driven through. The weight of the home will then be transferred from the concrete foundation, through the steel bracket and piers, to the deep load-bearing soil or bedrock. The family felt a sense of peace that their home would not be a risk anymore.
In Evansville, Indiana a homeowner reach out to Healthy spaces needing a quote. His basement had water leaking in due to a rainstorm that happened recently. During the inspection, stair-step cracking on the walls was present which was partly the culprit behind the water leaking in. The foundation needed to be repaired along with waterproofing the walls and installing a drainage system.
The WaterGuard system was installed to catch any water that seeped through the walls. It will then carry the water toward the SuperSump pump. This handy system is covered with cement while flooring can be laid on top for a finished look. CleanSpace was put on the walls to protect the vapor barrier and direct water vapor to the WaterGuard. Two separate foundation repair products were put in to fix inwards bowing on the lower halves of the walls or on the upper parts. The GeoLock Channel Anchors and GeoLock Wall Anchors were the best choices for this issue. Once the project was completed, the homeowner was safe to store items in his basement again!
In Vincennes, Indiana homeowner contacted Healthy Spaces about inspecting a home that he recently purchased. The basement walls were bowing and cracking. There were current metal supports that were not installed by Healthy Spaces that were old and thin. The supports were beginning to bend with the bowing wall. The homeowner was interested in straightening the walls permanently.
Upon further inspection of the basement, the best solution was to install GeoLock Wall Anchors. This is a great system to fix severe problems such as leaning walls and walls sliding in at the bottom. For a wall anchor system to work effectively, access of at least several feet is needed on the outside Once the foundation project was completed, the homeowner was able to enjoy his new home which was now structurally sound.
This home in Greenville, KY needed a way to stabilize their garage beams. They seemed to be sagging, and they didn't want it to become even worse than it already was. They gave us a call at Healthy Space, and Design Specialist, Damon Cheatham, was happy to come out, and see the problem.
After Damon did a thorough inspection of the home, he concluded that SmartJacks would be the best fit for this home. SmartJacks are steeled support systems used to permanently stabilize and level girders and floor joists. They don't replace the existing columns and piers but add strength and stability to what is there. They should be used to lift the above floors and walls back toward their original position, reduce floor 'bounce' caused by excessive floor joist spans, and solve the problem once and for all. Because of their design, the SmartJacks can be adjusted over time to provide additional straightening and leveling action if necessary. They can also hold up to 60,000 pounds!
