Our client in Lewisport, KY began experiencing a bouncy, squeaky floor. After calling Healthy Spaces for a free inspection, it was discovered they had concrete blocks stacked on top of the footer, with wooden "shims" wedged in at the top to fill any empty space. This solution doesn't work because as the concrete columns later settle into the soil below, additional shims may need to be added. In other words, this is a repair that will never permanently be fixed!
Our team replaced some of their supplemental beams and installed 5 SmartJacks. The SmartJack system addresses a solid base of engineered fill to distribute the weight of the home. Galvanized steel columns are cut to length, set on a cast of aluminum footing and secured to existing girders or supplemental beams with adjustable top brackets.
Donna in Tennyson, IN, had a basement wall that was bowing and recently started leaking water when it would rain. Their neighbor had work done in their home by Healthy Spaces and referred Donna to us.
The soil around your home can put enormous pressure on foundation walls. When there's constant pressure on your foundation walls from the outside, and the only thing holding up your foundation wall is the wall itself, the wall will either bow or crack. In Donna's case, her wall started bowing.
Our team installed 5 GeoLock Wall Anchors. Wall anchors are placed in the ground outside the home. Steel rods attached to soil anchors extend through the foundation wall and wall plates. Wall plates will hold walls in their current position without any further adjustment. A cool benefit of wall anchor systems is their ability to be tightened during dry periods, allowing for more straightening of your wall over time.

Homeowners Robert and Juliet of Lynville, IN began to worry when they saw visible cracks in their foundation. This is often a sign of your home settling. It was bulging out due to swelling soils. The soil was swelling because groundwater was present. That created another problem--leaking walls.
Design Specialist, Damon Cheatham, was called out to help these homeowners. Upon inspection, they decided that the PowerBrace System would be the best fit for the problem. The PowerBrace System is designed to permanently stabilize your home's foundation. Its purpose is to support basement walls and allows for straightening over time. It has a joist reinforcement method which helps with distributing the weight evenly. This eliminates the worry of damaged wood floor joists that are common with other foundation correcting systems.
Homeowner Mike, who lives in Boonville, IN, has noticed that his floors have begun to slowly sag over the years. After doing some research, he reached out to Healthy Spaces to have his situation assessed. Design Specialist, Donnie Stuteville, looked at her issue and proposed him a SmartJack System.
The SmartJack System is made of zinc-plate and hot-dip galvanized steel to prevent rust and eliminate weakening from moisture, mold, and wood rot. They had a load capacity of more than 60,000 pounds making them ideal for stabilizing a home's sagging floor. The concrete is dug up and filled with tightly-compacted crushed stone to provide the proper weight barring exertion needed for each column. Once the holes are filled, the SmartJacks are installed and cemented down to the floor and connected to the girder system. Each SmartJack is tightened to permanently stabilize the floor, and even potentially lift the floors back to level.
Steve from Foundation Repair Boonville, IN just purchased this home and it had several issues such as Sagging Floors in Boonville, IN, rotten wood, and he thought there were some moisture issues in the crawl space. After searching on Google for companies that could repair sagging floors in Boonville, IN, Steve came across Healthy Spaces. Crawl spaces experiencing sagging, sloping, or uneven floors can be caused by columns settling due to weak soil/poor footings, rot-weakened joists, or support columns spaced too far apart.
Our Foundation installation team installed a new supplemental beam, along with repairing the sill plate and joists. We also installed 4 SmartJacks. Our SmartJack system provides support for sagging and undersized beams, which restores stability and straightness to sagging floor joists in a crawl space. Now Steve can sleep with peace of mind knowing his home is back on a solid foundation.
